Educational Programs
K La Rue Arts in Motion is an innovative educational arts program that fuses creative expression and learning enrichment.
We believe that learning is an adventure. Through the powerful integration of arts and education, we create engaging experiences that inspire children and families to move, imagine, create, and grow together. Our programs combine creative movement, music, storytelling, dance, and literacy to nurture the whole child-social emotionally, academically and physically.

Building Our Ancestor Celebration Montessori Magnet at Batchelder 2025
Our signature program:
Building Our Ancestor
Based on Living Legends Among Us intergenerational celebrations, our "Building the Ancestor” program extends into the classroom - inviting students to discover, research, and celebrate their own ancestral relatives, and to collect the stories and histories of their own families and communities.
Through a collaborative partnership between K La Rue and the school, students become researchers, storytellers, artists, and family historians. The children create artwork based on their own cultural background and experience an intensive immersion into developing multi-medium ways to express their ancestral stories, culminating in a community exhibit and sharing of all they learned and created.
Over the 8-week immersive journey, each child uncovers a new awareness and pride in their individual and cultural heritage. Families participate in this wonderful discovery process and celebrate their child's personal exhibit along with community and school members. It is a powerfully fulfilling, and academically enriching, shared experience for all.
